Senior Spotlight - Shelby Morris
What do you look forward to the most during your senior year?
I'm looking forward to spending the last year of high school with friends especially since I didn't get to last year because of being home schooled.
What activities/athletics were you involved with at FHS?
I was in advanced art as a sophomore and now as a senior, I'm in AP art. I'm also in the Teaching Assistant Program through Highland Community College.
What are your Post-Forreston plans?
I'm planning to go to college in the child care field. I was thinking about going to Highland for two years, and then transferring to a four year college, so I can become a preschool or kindergarten teacher.
Who do you admire the most and why?
I admire my grandma because she has helped me through a lot of stressful moments in my high school career. She has also helped shape the person I am today.
What is your favorite memory at FHS?
My favorite memory at Forreston High School was when I was a Sophomore. Mrs. Russell-Brown told me I had won the Freeport Art Museum Art Show. She looked so proud that it was one of her own students. It was one of the times I was very proud of myself. I had felt so accomplished.
What advice would you give an incoming freshman?
Make a lot of memories to look back on because the next four years will go by way too quickly.
