FHS Announces Illinois State Scholars

Forreston High School Principal, Travis Heinz is pleased to announce that six students have been recognized as “2018 Illinois State Scholars”.

Forreston High School is honored to recognize the following students as Illinois State Scholars from the 2018 graduating class: Christian Groenewold, son of Guy and Dawn Groenewold, Elisabeth Gronewold, daughter of Mick and Kate Gronewold, Danielle Hagemann, daughter of Brad and Jean Hagemann, Olivia Krecklow, daughter of Josh and Molly Krecklow, Christian Pacheco, son of Salvador and Jennifer Pacheco, and Anna Snider, daughter of Matt and Stephanie Snider.

This prestigious award is given annually by the Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) which is recognizing 20,000 high school students from across the state as this year’s State Scholars.  Illinois State Scholars possess strong academic potential and are chosen based on a combination of exemplary ACT or SAT test scores and six semester class rank.  State Scholars rank in the top ten percent of high school seniors from 738 high schools across the state.

“To be recognized in the top 10% of graduating seniors in the State of Illinois is a tribute to the students’ work ethic, desire to succeed, their teachers, and the support they receive at home.  The nice thing about each of these students is that they are not only successful in the classroom.  Many of these students are leaders outside the classroom in the many extra-curricular activities they are involved as well.” said Travis Heinz, Forreston High School Principal.
