Matt Akins - Senior Spotlight

Your Full Name:  Matthew Ryan Akins

1.  What are your plans after high school (college, work force, future profession)?
I plan to join the Airforce after graduating high school. I want to get into security forces and be a Military Dog Handler.

2.  What was the biggest change for you between your freshman and senior year?
The biggest change for me between freshman and senior year would be that I got more mature and took more responsibility for my life.

3.  Which class challenged you the most and why?
Math class has challenged me the most throughout my high school career. Math is very boring to me so it is hard to focus.

4.  What person do you look up to the most and why?
I looked up to my great grandfather the most because he was always there for me. He taught me how to hunt, fish, and how to properly field dress an animal.

5.  What will you miss most about Forreston High School?
To be honest, I will miss playing football for Forreston, and all the friends I've made and the bond I made with all the guys who play. Nothing will ever compare to a bond on a high school football team, and I know I will miss it dearly.

6.  What advice would you give incoming freshmen?
If you're thinking of going out for a sport, go for it. If you're thinking of doing something out of your comfort zone, go for it. Chances are, you will enjoy every second of it. Four years sounds like a long time, but really it's not. When high school is over, you never get a chance to go back to it and it will be the one thing you will always remember memories from.
