Mrs. Yeager - Classroom Spotlight

We have been working hard on building a sense of community where we can grow as learners and good people.  These fifth grade students are amazing, respectful, full of energy and ready to learn!  On the first days of school, they learned to work together as one unit through the team building activities, "Saving Fred" and "Red Solo Cup Stack."  In September they participated in Homecoming week activities.  Their favorite days were Crazy Hat and Sunglasses Day and Spirit Day.  Also in September, the students participated in AG Day where they learned about Pollinators, Jobs in Agriculture, and Plants.  The Bee Keeper and tasting the honey were the most fascinating! And what fifth grader doesn't think having a 6' 6" football player stop by their classroom to read them a book and answer their questions is the coolest thing ever? Finally, since the first days, these fifth grade students have been problem solving, working together to think critically, learning to multiply and divide by powers of 10, multiplying using the area model, dividing using place value strategies, and adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing decimals.  Our community of learners is building and growing stronger each day, thanks to the hard work of great students, and the great people that they are surrounded by in the community and our schools.
