Sam Groom - Senior Spotlight

Sam Groom

1.  What are your plans after high school (college, work force, future profession)?

After high school I plan on attending Highland Community College for 2 years, and then going to a university for 2 years to work on becoming a Chief Architect.

2.  What was the biggest change for you between your freshman and senior year?

My biggest change was realizing how different life will be outside of high school and just as you get older in general.

3.  Which class challenged you the most and why?

Algebra was my toughest class because I really struggle with advanced math.

4.  What person do you look up to the most and why?

I look up to my Dad the most because we are very similar. He works very hard to make money and provide for our family. He never takes breaks and always does what needs to be done. Whenever I try to take an easy route, he's right there to talk to me and make sure I do my best and succeed. He's the hardest working person I know. My Dad has taught me pretty much everything I know. I'd be very happy if I grew up to be like my Dad.

5.  What will you miss most about Forreston High School?

What I will miss the most about Forreston High School is being able to have relationships with the teachers and staff. People in Forreston are very close and it seems like a family.

6.  What advice would you give incoming freshmen?

Enjoy high school while it lasts. Don't be afraid to take chances; do what is going to make you happy. Just be yourself.
