FHS Volleyball's "Digging for a Cure" Night - Thursday, September 28th
On Thursday, September 28th, the Forreston High School gym will be filled with pink as the Lady Cardinals host their annual "Digging for a Cure" event. Players, fans and even officials are asked to come to the game wearing pink to symbolize the fight against breast cancer.
The Cardinals will host the Durand Bulldogs with a 6:00 pm fresh-soph start, followed by the varsity match at approximately 7:00 pm. Admission will be free to cancer fighters, survivors and those wearing a "Digging for a Cure" t-shirt. There will be shirts sold at the event for those interested. All cancer fighters and survivors will be recognized prior to the varsity match. All proceeds from the event will go to the family of senior Forreston Cardinal volleyball player, Shianne Mitchell. Shianne's mom, Jennifer, is currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer.
The event will also feature performances by the FHS band, FHS cheerleaders and dance teams, giveaways, a bake sale, 50/50 raffle, caramel corn sales by the Servant Leaders, a memory survivor wall and much more. Donations are also being accepted at the Forreston High School main office for anyone wishing to contribute.
Come out and help the FHS Cardinal Volleyball team as they "serve) their community and "Dig for a Cure". Please wear pink and help pack the stands in pink in support for and awareness of the fight to cure breast cancer!
