Jacob Southerland - Senior Spotlight

Full Name:  Jacob Lewis Southerland

1.  What are your plans after high school (college, work force, future profession)?
I plan to go to Luther College and study Choral Music Education and Composition.

2.  What was the biggest change for you between your freshman and senior year?
The biggest change for me between my freshman and senior year was the change in my outlook on life and the people in it.

3.  Which class challenged you the most and why?
The class that challenged me the most was Spanish because it was a lot of memorizing and it was always my first class of the day.

4.  What person do you look up to the most and why?
The person I look up to most is my Papa. He has taught me so much about life and how to handle the ups and downs it can bring. He has been there for me in the ups and downs and he is always there when I need someone to give me their honest opinion on something in my life. He always has a good joke to tell and a smile on his face. He has been my partner since I was born and always will be.

5.  What will you miss most about Forreston High School?
I will miss the friendship and the memories that I've made here. The goods always outweighed the bads and everything looks better in hindsight.

6.  What advice would you give incoming freshmen?
“The Lord's greatest blessings come in the form of hardship."  Life will get you down, I promise you that. But just remember that the bad times make the good times better. And there will always be greener grass somewhere. But no matter what, laugh every day.
