Sheyania Hughes - Senior Spotlight

Full Name:  Sheyania Nakeshia Hughes

1.  What are your plans after high school (college, work force, future profession)?

I plan on attending the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and I will be majoring in Zoology and Accounting.

2.  What was the biggest change for you between your freshman and senior year?

The main change was my personality.  During freshman year, I was very shy and quiet; however, now I am very outgoing and confident speaking in front of large groups of people.

3.  Which class challenged you the most and why?

Math has challenged me the most because I have never been very good at math.  Even though it challenged me the most, I enjoyed it and overcame the challenges it presented.

4.  What person do you look up to the most and why?

I look up to my mom because as a single mother, she raised my sister, brother, and me and put all of us through school.  She always found a way to make ends meet and make sure we all had the things we needed.

5.  What will you miss most about Forreston High School?

Reflecting on my experiences attending Highland Community College and presenting in front of people I did not know, I am going to miss being able to know everyone in my classes.  I am going to miss knowing all the teachers and miss presenting to people that I've known for many years.

6.  What advice would you give incoming freshmen?

I would advise them to not wait until they are a junior or senior to start making after high school plans because it comes faster than expected.  Also, I would advise them not to do things just because their friends are doing them; that also means don't not join something because friends aren't doing it.
